How to perfectly spend your snow day

Aristobrat’s Take on
The Perfect Snow Day

*Sleep In: what good is a snow day if you awake to check the blackberry for school/work cancellations and then aren’t able to sink back into your down comforter and pull on your light-block mask and slip back into sleepy bliss?

*Remain in your comfy cashmere lounge pants. No one but the man plowing your driveway will see you so why not stay in your pjs!? Karen Zambos has a new vintage spin on loungewear (as seen to the right) that will keep your cute butt warm while lazing around watching Jay lie straight-faced to Whitney on The City or checking your favorite online blogs.

*Indulge in a culinary masterpiece for brunch.
Today I chose waffles from scratch topped with sauteed apples made into a cinnamon-y topping. Both found easily via blackberry at allrecipes.com

*Decide what needs to be done without stressing yourself out but keeping you up-to-date to prevent you from feeling as though you wasted this precious occurrence.
I did not follow my advice today, got none of my school projects even close to finished. Instead started this blog and brainstormed a gajillion topics I would explore through it and played with my puppy (a mini schnauzer named Sasha who is now 6 months old who I will now shamelessly whore out with this picture).

*If you are like me – I love to spend some free time writing creatively and without restraint. It is incredibly therapeutic. Along with that is reading – whether it is a new piece of fiction, the small blurbs from my RSS feed or the tweets of my friends. Reading = Ultimate Relaxation. Doubly if paired with a nice cup of Teavanna’s Jasmine Rooibus Blended teas complete with their white honey spoon. Soy hot chocolate serves as a great alternative when you’re feeling particularly indulgent.

*Treat yourself to an hour of watching your favorite tv show. I am a college student and this semester made a rule that I would DVR all imperatives and only watch tv on the weekends. So far I have honored that, however I get to cheat on snow days (I’ve only had two this semester).

*Catch up on something you’ve wanted to but haven’t had the time. Whether this be researching a particular interest of yours, furthering a business opportunity or connecting with an old friend you have been meaning to call.

Have a great snow day and thank you for reading my first blog entry!
