Her Haus: Architectural Inspiration

I spend a fair amount
of time virtually reviewing the exteriors and interiors of homes for writing
assignments, personal interest and most importantly my blog.

There are several
aspects of a house that will consistently catch my eye and if money were no
option, my dream house would be comprised of each and every one.

The most important
characteristic of a space is that it has windows that admit massive amounts of light. This one is in
Toronto.

If I am considering
an urban dwelling, while space is typically limited, higher ceilings

counteract a rooms
diminutiveness.

I may not require a
great deal of space in the more private rooms of the house, but one place I
cannot skimp on size is in my closet.

All bags, shoes and
accessories must lie in their designated home while my apparel is often

organized by color
and ascending length.

I like to describe my
preferred approach to décor as Classic Glam.

A mix of the traditional
with modern touches. Never over cluttered, simple and chic.

Most pieces are
reasonably priced while the most important aspects like

Bedding, I consider
to be splurge-worthy.

When looking at the
entire picture, it is important that the exterior

is just as impressive
as the interior.

Architecture

I am partial to the
classic Roman style (also known as Federal Architecture) that incorporates
brick but also the steep roofs and arched windows of Provencal style homes.
